Curtiss-Wright Extends The Jc4000 Joystick Range

Christchurch, U.K. – Monday, 18 May 2020 – Curtiss-Wright’s Industrial division today announced the launch of three new Grips for the JC4000, designed specifically for use in the diverse environments of the Aerial Work Platform (AWP) market.

The new ergonomically designed grips offer a range of operating styles whilst delivering comfort and control. The new range of grips are;

  • B001 - Ball Grip
  • B002 - Extended ball Grip
  • HJ - Rocker Grip

The B001 and B002 offer comfortable profiles at different heights to suit individual machine ergonomics.

The HJ grip offers full proportional control from the environmentally sealed rocker contained in the top of the grip with the addition of overpress mechanisms at the ends of travel that will trigger specific machine functions.

This range of new grips are all available as standard options when ordering the JC4000.

The JC4000 joystick base and accompanying range of grips have been designed for use in Aerial Work Platform (AWP) applications, with options for single- or dual-axis operation making the product suitable for both scissor lifts and booms. Three, dual-axis gates are available – round, square or plus  – while the ergonomically-designed grip offers the choice of one or two top switches, as well as a person-present lever, meaning the unit can be used across a wide variety of machines. These carefully chosen configuration options offer an optimal combination of performance and cost.

The JC4000 employs a long-life bearing system and non-contacting, Hall-effect sensing technology to achieve an impressive lifespan of over 6 million operating cycles. It is powered from a 5Vdc supply voltage and offers analog output options of 0.5-4.5V or 1.0-4.0V.

Other key features of the JC4000 include:

  • Load performance of 50Nm horizontal, 1100N vertical and 6Nm rotational
  • Dual outputs on each axis including rocker grip
  • Center-reference signal
  • Under- or above-panel mounting
  • Enclosure sealing to IP67
  • EMC performance to 100V/m
  • MTTFd > 100 years
