Connecticut Company Modern Plastics Develops an Infection-control Face Mask Shield
Shelton, Conn., March 31, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Modern Plastics, a company based in Shelton, CT has just released a brand new product - a face shield made of a material called PETG, which is FDA-approved. The shield is simple by its design but effective for its purpose.
The plastic face shields are made in the USA from High-Performance, Clear PETG Plastic (.020" or .030" thickness). Combining clarity with durability, this protective face shield provides clear, unobstructed views and is bendable yet sturdy and virtually unbreakable. Our full-face shield product offers total face protection for workers in hospitals, healthcare facilities, restaurants, grocery stores and other close contact spaces. Our shields can easily fit over glasses and its soft foam headband is made for skin contact and fits easily against the forehead so you can wear our lightweight shield comfortably for long periods of time. "So this is an added layer of protection an added barrier in addition to the N95 masks that are being worn as well," explains company president, Bing Carbone.
"It's about the Healthcare Professionals... It's about the First Responders. The Doctors and Nurses and, of course, the Public that we're protecting and we feel really good about that." - Bing Carbone, President
The manufacturing plant had to be retrofitted to start this new product line. Modern Plastics is also making the plastic barriers meant to keep store clerks safe and plastic boxes used to protect healthcare workers during certain medical procedures.
