New TayMac Weatherproof Deck Outlet Cover Adds Power to Raised Decks for Outdoor Lifestyles
South Bend, Indiana December 3, 2019 - TayMac introduces a new weatherproof electrical outlet cover designed for use on residential decks. The unique low-profile product provides an effective solution for adding power to decks for outdoor lifestyles. TayMac, part of Hubbell Commercial Construction, provides innovative electrical products to industrial, commercial and residential markets.
The TayMac DOC320 Deck Outlet Cover provides a safe and code-compliant way to add an electrical outlet to a raised deck floor. Power can be placed where consumers will avoid long intrusive extension cords, which pose tripping hazards. Part of the Outdoor Comforts™ line, this weatherproof electrical cover is designed to enhance outdoor living spaces with the same convenience and comfort as indoors.
The Deck Outlet Cover features a low profile with a textured finish and beveled edge to meet ADA guidelines, reducing the chances of a trip or fall. A wide-opening, easy-access lid covers a 2-3/4" recessed space. The large space inside accepts larger cords and plugs. The robust design is constructed of heavy duty PVC.
A rain chamber and "drip loop" design, along with wide drip holes provide two levels of drip protection while in-use. Any water that travels along the cord to get inside will drip away without reaching the electrical device. Cord hooks hold cords in place below the lid, to ensure that it closes tight. A pre-attached weatherproof gasket keeps water from entering around the edge of the self-closing lid.
The DOC320 Deck Outlet Cover is UL, NEC and NEMA 3R compliant. It comes preconfigured for a 1-gang duplex outlet. A breakout adaptor allows decorator style or GFCI devices to be used. Outlet devices and weatherproof box are not included.
