LENEXA, KS (June 01, 2007) - John Deere introduces a completely new line of sprayers, the 4730, 4830 and 4930 Series Self-Propelled Sprayers. This new line-up of intelligent-application equipment sets new standards for sprayer performance, versatility and productivity with service backed up by John Deere Commercial Application Dealers (CAD) and the Application Support Dealer (ASD) network.
30 Series Sprayers
"We've put together a complete family of self-propelled sprayers to meet the productivity demands of all markets, from growers to commercial applicators," says Craig Weynand, product marketing manager, John Deere Des Moines Works. "And all the sprayers are loaded with integrated performance-enhancing technology which includes precision guidance, mapping and variable rate software. These machines truly are the most efficient sprayers ever built by John Deere."
The 4730 Sprayer, rated at 245 horsepower, leads the line-up by delivering 20 more horsepower than the previous model to better handle rolling terrain, hillsides, and tough field conditions. It features 800 gallons of solution capacity and a new, factory-installed 100-foot boom, which is designed to lay flat in transport for better visibility and comfort for the operator. The 4730 Sprayer also features an improved front entry for easy access into the temperature-controlled, operator-friendly cab.
"We're also extremely excited about the new 4830 Sprayer," explains Weynand. "This mid-sized machine features a PowerTech Plus(TM) 275-horsepower engine (with a peak 300-horsepower rating), 1000-gallon solution capacity, and boom sizes up to 100 feet. These large-capacity features will help growers and commercial operators get more done in less time, in all working conditions."
The 4830 also features the standard GreenStar 2(TM) monitor pre-loaded with precision guidance, mapping, and variable rate software. The optional Boom Trac Pro automatic boom leveling maintains a consistent height over the crop while Swath Control Pro automatically turns nozzle sections on and off at end rows, waterways and other non-spray areas. This intelligent technology is designed to help operators cover more acres in less time, spray product more efficiently and reduce operator fatigue with the assisted-steering system of optional AutoTrac(TM).
"The highly-productive 4930 Sprayer has been in our line-up," says Weynand, "and offers industry-leading productivity with a 325-horsepower engine, 1200-gallon solution tank and boom widths up to 120 feet. Now we've added a 300-cubic-foot drybox option capable of carrying 10 tons of fertilizer, which makes this a versatile three-season machine. Operators will have more capacity to stay longer in the field between refill times."
The drybox can be easily installed and also features a MultiApplier option to spread two dry products simultaneously. A SpreadStar(TM) Controller allows for precision dual-product rate control from the cab and can apply single or dual product or fertilizer at 20 mph with a spread pattern up to 105 feet.
The 30 Series Sprayers are sold and supported by John Deere Commercial Application Dealers and Application Support Dealers at 254 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The John Deere Commercial Dealers will be responsible for selling and servicing John Deere spray equipment to the commercial application market and ag producers in their trade areas. The Application Support Dealers will cover only the ag producer market in their trade areas.
"These dealers are dedicated to you, your business and your operation's spraying needs," emphasizes Weynand. "They are backed up by a dedicated, trained staff of sprayer technicians, sales consultants, mobile service support, parts and extended service hours during the busiest seasons."
