Original Press Release:

QNAP Introduces The QSW-M12XX 10GbE L2 Web Managed Switch Series, Providing User-friendly Entry-level Network Management for SMBs

Taipei, Taiwan, November 26, 2020 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. (QNAP), a leading computing, networking and storage solution innovator, today released the QSW-M12XX 10GbE L2 Web Managed Switch series, including the QSW-M1208-8CQSW-M1204-4C, and QSW-M804-4C models. Featuring practical Layer 2 network management functions, small businesses can attain an entry-level network management solution that enables efficient bandwidth utilization.

The QSW-M1208-8C comes with four 10GbE SFP+ ports and eight SFP+/ RJ45 combo ports (twelve ports in total). The QSW-M1204-4C comes with eight 10GbE SFP+ ports and four SFP+/ RJ45 combo ports (twelve ports in total). The QSW-M804-4C comes with four 10GbE SFP+ ports and four SFP+/ RJ45 combo ports (eight ports in total). All three models are compatible with 10GBASE-T and Multi-Gigabit NBASE-T networking speeds (10G / 5G / 2.5G / 1G / 100M), allowing users to take advantage of higher network speeds with existing Cat 6a cables. The QSW-M12XX series also provides Layer 2 management functions via a user-friendly Web GUI for efficient network bandwidth control and enhanced network security.

"With the increasing demand for high-speed networking in multimedia studios and small businesses, the QSW-M12XX series provides multiple 10GbE ports and SFP+/RJ45 interfaces that can achieve 20GbE by link aggregation (LACP) for meeting even the most demanding network requirements,” said Frank Liao, Product Manager of QNAP, adding “the affordable and easy-to-use QNAP QSW-M12XX switches allow users to flexibly deploy bandwidth and cabling for connecting different devices and efficiently maintaining networks."

The QSW-M12XX series is one of the few web-managed switches that supports Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) and is compliant with IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet and IEEE802.3x Flow Control in full-duplex mode. Users can deploy small/medium-scale networks that support expansion, redundancy, and loop prevention, while avoiding packet loss from unparalleled bandwidth, and reducing power consumption for low-speed and inactive connections. With its smart cooling system, the QSW-M12XX series switch ensures high-speed network performance while minimizing distracting background noise.
