Sandvine Launches Service Delivery Engine to Ensure QoS across Broadband Applications

Waterloo, Canada; November 29, 2007 - Sandvine, (TSX:SVC; AIM:SAND) a leading provider of Intelligent Broadband Network Solutions, today announced that it has launched the Sandvine Service Delivery Engine (SDE). The SDE gives service providers a policy infrastructure to launch a broad portfolio of next generation IP services with network-wide quality of service (QoS) over multiple access technologies: cable, DSL, FTTH, 3G wireless and WiMax. With this solution, service providers can increase profitability, enhance subscriber satisfaction and improve network efficiencies. The SDE results from the acquisition of CableMatrix Technologies, Inc. this past June.

Leveraging leading standards such as IMS, TISPAN and PCMM, the SDE provides end-to-end network resource management and control of quality-sensitive services such as VoIP, streaming media, bandwidth-on-demand, photo upload and online gaming.

"Service providers are looking to build upon their broadband access business with new value-added services ranging from multimedia entertainment to enhanced communications," said Matt Davis, IDC Director, Consumer Multiplay Services."As more next generation services are delivered across a converged infrastructure, the increased demand on service provider networks will clearly drive the need to incorporate enhanced policy control to ensure a quality experience for their subscribers."

Through universal equipment signaling, the SDE allows policy enforcement network-wide, from the edge to the core. Characterized by a flexible, modular design, the SDE integrates with Sandvine's Policy Traffic Switches (PTS 14000 and PTS 8210) and network management solutions for a comprehensive policy strategy that addresses services, network security, traffic management and network demographics reporting.

"By adding the SDE to our product portfolio, Sandvine offers the dynamic policy control needed to implement network-wide QoS and accelerate new revenue streams for service providers," said Tom Donnelly, Sandvine Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales. "Sandvine provides the most comprehensive strategy for launching next-generation services, improving subscriber satisfaction and ensuring fair usage on broadband networks."
