Now xSeries® 360 models are powered with Intel® Xeon MP processors clocked up to 2.8 GHz and with up to 2 MB L3 cache. Total memory capacity is also increased to 16 GB with use of the new 2 GB memory dual-inline memory module DIMM.
The xSeries 360 server contains advanced technology that combines four-way SMP-capable power, Peripheral Component Interconnect-X (PCI-X) expansion, Enterprise X-Architecture(TM), high availability, scalability, and substantial internal data storage capacity.

High-Performance Server Subsystems: xSeries 360 servers are high-throughput, four-way SMP-capable Xeon-based network servers. They deliver excellent scalability for adding memory, adapter cards, or multiple processors.
These models are equipped with powerful Xeon MP processors up to 2.8 GHz with 2 MB ECC L3 cache, and 512 KB L2 caches that utilize 64-byte cache lines. Four connectors for Xeon MP processors are standard on the system board. High-speed, PC1600 ECC SDRAM provides excellent processor-to-memory subsystem performance.
The xSeries 360 system architecture is fine tuned and engineered to optimize the powerful Xeon MP processors. This architecture consists of the following key components:
o Xeon MP processors
o Second-generation IA-32 memory I/O controller (MIOC)
o System memory card
o PCI-X host-bridge controller
This Xeon MP processor uses 100 MHz common clock speed for external operations. Source synchronous strobes of 200 and 400 MHz are used to support 200 MHz (double pumped) address and 400 MHz (quad pumped) data buses to the memory controller. This allows up to 3.2 GB/s data transfers between memory and the processor.
