Mazu Networks Announces New Sensor to Provide Enterprises with Visibility into 10 Gbps Networks

INTEROP, LAS VEGAS and CAMBRIDGE, Mass., May 22 /- Mazu Networks, the leading(1) provider of Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) systems, today announced the availability of a new Mazu sensor that enables enterprises to gain complete visibility of 10 Gbps network environments.

Enterprises are moving to faster environments that can accommodate the growing number of applications and bandwidth demands that more complex and diverse networks require to support today's business operations. Although a 10 Gbps network meets these demands and is quickly becoming the industry standard, enterprises risk losing visibility of critical assets when acquiring this level of speed. Mazu provides enterprises with continuous global visibility into how users, applications, hosts and devices behave on a network, giving them the ability to detect meaningful changes from typical behavior that indicate a network performance issue, a security threat or an application problem. This intelligence enables network teams to optimize infrastructure to support business operations, while also allowing security teams to protect critical services, data and intellectual property. The new Mazu sensor enables enterprises to benefit from this level of visibility on a 10 Gbps network.

"Today's enterprise is building out their data center for tomorrow's demands, which has driven the industry's need for faster networks to support business operations 10 years from now," said Glenn Brewer, vice president, engineering, Mazu Networks. "We are working toward the future and our 10 Gbps sensor is just the beginning. How businesses use networks will continue to evolve and Mazu will always be ahead of the market, providing the visibility needed to enable the success of that evolution."

The Mazu sensor monitors network traffic and provides statistics to the central Mazu appliance for aggregation and analysis. With the release of the 10 Gbps sensor, Mazu can now bring its patent pending layer 7 application visibility to next generation high speed networks. Mazu is the only NBA systems, network or security management solution to provide this holistic view of a 10 Gbps network.

"Today's enterprises need to restore network predictability or at the very least, make unpredictability somewhat manageable," said George Hamilton, director of Yankee Group's Enabling Technologies Enterprise Group. "There seems no end to the demand from end users for new capabilities, content and applications. Although transitioning to a 10 Gbps network makes the delivery of these extended capabilities possible, it also makes the enterprise network manager's job increasingly difficult as well as more critical to the company and its constituents. Mazu provides the visibility enterprises need to address the increasing demands of a faster, more critical and complex network which allows IT teams to optimize their infrastructure, regardless of its size."
