Saflink EntryPoint Improves SMB Network Security with Flexible Remote Access and Biometric Authentication

Password Replacement Solution to Be Demonstrated at Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference

KIRKLAND, Wash., July 10 -- Saflink(R) Corporation (NASDAQ:SFLK), a leading provider of solutions that verify identity, secure access and increase productivity, today announced EntryPoint(TM) 2.0, the latest version of the company's strong authentication password replacement solution for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Active Directory(R). Saflink will demonstrate EntryPoint and the two newest add-on products, EP-Connect for secure remote access needs and EP-Biometric for biometric authentication, at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference July 11-13, 2006 in Boston (booth #420).

"Small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) struggle with the same network security concerns as larger enterprises, yet have far less choice when selecting affordable secure authentication products," said Sapna Capoor, Industry Analyst, Frost and Sullivan. "EntryPoint is a comprehensive product offering for SMBs that bridges this product gap. EntryPoint's biometric capabilities assist in increasing security, eliminating the need for passwords and enhancing productivity -- without sacrificing user convenience. EP-Biometric makes it possible for smaller companies to easily adopt biometric security policies -- a growing trend in the SMB market."

EntryPoint enables SMBs to cost-effectively increase security and productivity by replacing standard password-based Windows log-on processes with alternate authentication technologies. The product's straightforward administration and implementation allows businesses to "mix and match" technologies to meet various and changing security requirements across an organization. The two new add-on products, developed in response to customer and channel partner feedback, are the first in a series of EntryPoint solutions to further enhance security in the SMB environment. The first add-on products address two of the highest customer concerns -- flexible remote access and increased network security. The new add-on products now available for EntryPoint 2.0 are:

-- EP-Connect -- allows remote workers to gain secure access to corporate networks and business functions. EP-Connect allows businesses to require multi-factor authentication before users can gain access to the company virtual private network (VPN) and Microsoft Outlook(R) Web Access (OWA) -- two key access points for small- and mid-sized organizations. The initial EP-Connect release supports Cisco's(R) ASA 5500 Series SMB VPN appliances.

-- EP-Biometric -- enables businesses to add biometric authentication and security policies to their security infrastructure. Through the use of fingerprint biometric devices, EP-Connect allows users to log into company networks either internally or externally via remote access with EP-Connect. Access is granted after providing a fingerprint biometric as opposed to a password, which can be lost, stolen or shared.

In addition to the availability of EP-Connect and EP-Biometric, EntryPoint 2.0 now offers a number of administrative enhancements to provide businesses the greatest amount of flexibility in deciding the best approach for implementing a combination of USB tokens and biometrics for local and remote access. EntryPoint allows businesses to apply and enforce various levels of security based on a specific user, event or departmental needs.

"EntryPoint was created to reduce password management headaches and associated costs in the SMB environment," said Tim Wudi, Chief Marketing Officer at Saflink. "This first round of enhancements and complementary products are a direct result of feedback from our reseller partners and customers. The EP-Connect and EP-Biometric products solve real SMB concerns. We look forward to offering additional products and functionality through our partners that make it easy for smaller organizations to roll out enterprise-grade security at an affordable pricepoint."

EntryPoint 2.0, EP-Connect and EP-Biometric will be available from the more than 130 Saflink Channel Partner Program resellers in late July. To find an authorized Saflink reseller, visit http://saflink.com/partnerships/index.html.
