Secure Broadband Internet Access in an Instant from SonicWALL

New 3G Wireless Network Security Platform Frees Businesses to Work With or Without Fixed Internet Connections

SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 23 // -- SonicWALL, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNWL) today introduced the SonicWALL TZ 190, a network security appliance which allows users to instantly create a secure 3G wireless broadband network without the need for a fixed Internet connection. The TZ 190 series satisfies business requirements for instantly deployed primary and failover broadband networking by providing the only 3G platform currently available that integrates a deep packet inspection firewall, high speed 3G Internet WAN connectivity and centralized remote management capabilities.

Organizations depend on high speed broadband Internet connections for maximum employee productivity, including the exchange of confidential customer information and other sensitive business data. In many instances an Internet connection is required in areas where wired networks -- DSL, leased line, ISDN and others -- are unavailable, prohibitively expensive, or time consuming in terms of installation. The TZ 190 is ideally suited for construction, retail, border control or emergency services applications where flexibility, reliability and speed of installation are priorities. The TZ 190 can be remotely managed via a Web interface, or using SonicWALL's Global Management System.

The SonicWALL TZ 190, built on SonicWALL's deep packet protection technology, enables organizations to establish secure 3G wireless broadband access in any location by simply inserting a SonicWALL approved wireless PC card in the PC card slot. Organizations can use the TZ 190 to rapidly establish high speed networks for seasonal kiosks, mobile point-of-sale stations, portable ATM machines, disaster recovery networks and more.

Nick Glinkowski, North America sales director with reseller Pacific Voice and Data, commented, "Our company is focused on delivering high-value, innovative solutions, which accelerate enterprise success by driving productivity, customer service, and lower costs. The SonicWALL TZ 190 opens many new opportunities to provide customers with improved connectivity and security to support their business initiatives. SonicWALL's innovations continue to provide us with solid solutions to better serve the SMB market, and grow our business along with our customers."

The TZ 190 is a high-performance, multi-layered security platform that integrates Type II PC card support for EV-DO, HSDPA, 1xRTT, EDGE, UMTS and GPRS wireless broadband networks. Built on SonicWALL's powerful SonicOS Enhanced operating system, the TZ 190 delivers advanced business continuity and networking features including automated failover/failback technologies, policy-based NAT, bandwidth management and DDNS. The TZ 190 offers a deeper level of network security through integration of real-time gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention and anti-spam capabilities providing comprehensive protection against malicious threats that originate either internally or from the Internet.

"We see strong demand among our channel partners and their customers for a network access solution combining security with the flexibility to connect from places where fixed Internet lines are not available," said Matt Medeiros, president and chief executive officer at SonicWALL. "Our new product opens exciting new opportunities for our users to take advantage of instant but protected high speed connection in mobile, remote or temporary locations."

Pricing and Availability

Priced at $995.00, the SonicWALL TZ 190 will ship at the end of November 2006.
