Keyboard Shrugs off Dirt, Oil, and Water

A tough steel and ABS housing supports a single sheet of silicone rubber keys in this new NEMA 4 keyboard from CyberResearch®. The combination is immune to the grit and grime found in most industrial shops and laboratories. Convenient mouse keys point in any direction with reliable left- and right-click action, too.

OIX 4108 keyboards from CyberResearch, Inc., feature 108 key and connectors for either PS/2 (shown) or USB ports. Only 0.99" high, 15.9" wide, and 5.7" deep, the keyboards fit conveniently into a 1U rack-mount drawer or a conventional under-the-desktop keyboard tray.

The keyboards are made so that it's easy for touch typists to know when they have completed a keystroke. Stroke force is a gentle 180 ±30 grams and stroke length is 0.06" (1.5mm). Layout, dimensioning, and electrical characteristics conform to Windows® 98 standards and the keyboards offer an operational life greater than 1,000,000 strokes per key.

These units weigh only 2.86 pounds, yet they stand up to temperatures from -40F to +176°F (-20°C to +80°C) and humidity from 10 to 90% noncondensing. In short, these boards keep working long after most typists would quit!

In addition to OIX keyboards - now shipping from stock - CyberResearch, Inc., also offers industrial-strength panel-mount, and desktop PCs, as well as data-acquisition and motion-control systems. For more information, call Joe Tetreault at 800-341-2525, or visit www.cyberresearch.com.
