Narrow-Beam IREDs offer output power from 3.0-25 mW.

Press Release Summary:

Models CLE331P and CLE335P are TO-46, 850 nm IREDs suited for applications requiring uniform output radiation patterns. They feature custom plastic lenses and can be operated at up to 3 A when pulsed at 10 µs, 100 pps. Maximum operating temperature is 100°C. Model CLE331P contains AlGaAs Point Source die with 50 micron dia junction. Model CLE335P contains AlGaAs DDH die.

Original Press Release:

Narrow Beam, Very High Power Output IREDs

Clairex announces two new TO-46, 850nm IREDs, the CLE331P and the CLE335P which have been designed for applications requiring uniform output radiation patterns. Featuring custom plastic lenses, these devices offer several advantages over metal can devices including lower cost, narrower beam angle, better collimation and overall higher performance.

The CLE331P contains an AlGaAs Point Source die which features a 50 micron diameter junction. At IF = 100mA, typical power output is 3.0 mW, typical rise and fall time is 5 ns, maximum VF is 2.2 V and emission angle at the half power points is ± 2°.

The CLE335P contains an AlGaAs DDH die featuring 50% greater power output than standard AlGaAs emitters. At IF = 100mA, typical power output is 25 mW, typical rise and fall time is 30 ns, maximum VF is 1.9 V and emission angle at the half power points is ± 4°.

Both devices can be operated at up to 3 amps when pulsed at 10 µs, 100pps. Maximum operating temperature is 100°C.

The CLE331P is priced at $2.48 ea/1000 and the CLE335P is priced at $1.87 ea/1000. Delivery is 4-6 weeks ARO. Samples are available from stock.
