Overview
DB2® Entity Analytic Solutions Name Manager applies business intelligence to the automated name processing capabilities of the IBM DB2 Entity Analytic Identity Resolution and Relationship Resolution products to provide multicultural name recognition software solutions for your mission-critical applications. It does this by applying business rules specific to a name's culture.

This capability will have many applications and is especially suited for customers focused on operational risk, antifraud, and anti-money laundering as well as for government agencies focused on homeland security.

DB2 Entity Analytic Solutions Name Manager uses a cross section of function of two Language Analysis Systems products - the NameClassifier and the NameHunter.

NameClassifier function offers a break-through approach to automated name recognition by applying the principle that once you know the culture of a name, you can apply many business rules associated with that culture. "Lou Smith," for example, would be processed differently than "Lou In Sung."

NameHunter function applies a detailed understanding of the cultural and linguistic properties associated with names to provide effective name-matching. You supply NameHunter with a list of names and unique record IDs, and NameHunter provides automated support for character variations, such as Smith versus Simth (typo), and support for cultural variations, such as nicknames (Betty for Elizabeth).
