Hanover/Las Vegas. From April 11-14, DVS will be presenting its latest storage solutions at booth SL3305. Their flexibility and modular design make them perfect for the post production and broadcast markets.

The SpycerBox Flex will debut in the US at NAB 2011. The central media hub was certified by DFT in early 2011 as a high-performance storage solution for film scanning, telecine and post production systems. The universal SOAP interface in Spycer® makes seamless integration into automated customer environments possible. SpycerBox Flex offers all the functions of a complete SAN system, proving itself to be a fast and cost-effective storage solution. In the NAS version, too, post production houses as well as broadcasters can integrate the SpycerBox Flex effortlessly into their existing storage architecture thanks to the variety of supported high-speed interfaces. Another highlight of SpycerBox is that it is also available in a combination of the two versions. That means customers receive a highly integrated, high-performance complete package which reduces infrastructure expenditure to a minimum.

The SpycerBox Ultra increases its current capacity to 72 TB, making it the perfect solution for workflows in the areas of archiving and nearline storage. The latest version of the SpycerBox Ultra optimizes both the speed as well as the scalability of customer workflows by offering the opportunity to form a storage cluster solution.
The latest version 2.2 of the content management software Spycer® allows extremely quick and secure data management thanks to autoverify and dynamic bandwidth throttling. While Spycer® assumes scheduled processes from different workstations, the software helps take care of various backup and archiving workflows. Mephisto, the stand-alone defragmentation tool, enables the positioning of image sequences and clips in optimal locations on the storage system while defragmenting them simultaneously.

Customers who choose a combination of the SpycerBox storage solution and the VENICE video server for the broadcast arena enjoy maximum convenience. The core of VENICE is available as a separate module which connects directly to the SpycerBox. This combination provides up to 72 TB of SATA storage with two channels using only 7 U of rackspace. Here, the SOAP interface, which allows access to the various applications, is a particularly efficient and effective feature.

Henner Steinwede, DVS Product Manager: "The DVS storage solutions are extremely popular with our customers thanks to their modularity and ease with which they can be integrated. Among other things, at this year's NAB we'll be showing visitors how flexible our SpycerBox Flex solution is when it comes to implementing it - with both broadcast and post production users benefiting from the unparalleled performance of the system which they can tailor to their particular requirements on a project by project basis."
