Murrelektronik's MICO Provides Intelligent Control to Branch Circuits

Duluth, Georgia, November 19, 2008 - Murrelektronik's MICO is a power distribution system that provides intelligent control for 24VDC branch circuits. Designed to monitor current and indicate current ratings, the unit handles high capacitive loads up to 20,000 µF.

Murrelektronik designed the MICO to detect overloads during running operation, ensuring safe shutdowns of affected current paths without impacting the power supply. Equipped with LED outputs and a memory system for fault recognition after power loss, the unit helps service technicians see where faults occurred at a glance. Additionally, MICO's integrated floating alarm output eliminates the need for auxiliary contacts, allowing PLC fault reports to be obtained by connecting a cable to the first and final units.

MICO units accommodate input supply up to 40A and enable users to separate an input from a single source into 2 or 4 circuits with selectable amperage for each branch. The units are designed with two or four bridgeable channels and can be quickly connected by a bridging system for daisy chain installation. They are also equipped with spring clamp terminals, reducing the time required for the connection and ensuring safe contacts in case of vibration.
