Epson America Launches PowerLite 1810p and 1815p Projectors for Powerful and Easy Presentations in Virtually any Setting

New High-Performance 3LCD Epson Projectors Deliver Vibrant Images and Advanced PC-Free Capabilities to Higher-Education and Corporate Markets

LONG BEACH, Calif., April 17 -- Epson America, Inc. today unveiled the Epson PowerLite 1810p and 1815p projectors suitable for the demands of higher-education environments and corporate facilities. The new projectors from Epson, the number-one selling brand of front projectors worldwide(1), feature 3,500 lumens of brightness, wireless and PC-free connectivity and six-second automatic image adjustment. The PowerLite 1810p and 1815p projectors ($2,699 ESP and $2,999 ESP, respectively) weigh in at 6.5 pounds and 6.9 pounds, respectively, providing a portable form-factor ideal for small conference room or classroom settings, but delivering enough power for larger auditoriums.

"As the designers of the world's leading projectors, Epson understands and delivers the features that presenters need most, and the PowerLite 1810p and 1815p projectors are a prime example," said Daniel Oey, group product manager, Epson America. "As the education and corporate markets evolve, we work closely with our customers to design projectors and incorporate features to not only meet, but exceed their needs."

New PowerLite 1815p Connectivity, Functionality and Control

The PowerLite 1815p includes Epson's enhanced EasyMP(TM) technology for PC-free presenting, delivering multimedia video with audio files through an 802.11a/b/g wireless module. For increased flexibility, the projector also offers USB Type A connectivity to any PC, as well as RJ-45 wired LAN connectivity for remote monitoring and control. For control via the IP network, the PowerLite 1815p features a new GUI interface with intuitive functionality that enables network administrators to remotely play and pause presentations as well as adjust images (i.e., e-zoom, keystone correction, volume, color mode, etc.). In addition, the new PC-free interfaces (USB port and Compact Flash slots) allow presenters to easily identify and display almost all file types via thumbnails, including JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, SIT, MPEG1, and MPEG2. The compact flash allows presenters to quickly update files via the network providing added convenience for network administrators working with installed units.

PowerLite 1810p and 1815p Shared Features and Performance

The PowerLite 1810p and 1815p offer many additional features to enable higher education and corporate presenters to deliver vibrant, multimedia presentations virtually anywhere, including:

* Easy Set-up and Presentation -- Epson Quick Setup technology provides
six-second automatic image adjustment; for added flexibility, both
projectors offer up to 45 degrees vertical and 30 degrees horizontal
keystoning capabilities, 1.6x zoom ratio, and Epson's improved Quick
Corner technology

* A/V Mute Slide -- Creates a quick pause in the presentation to
emphasize a point; the projectors will enter A/V Mute mode when the
lens cover is closed and will return to normal mode automatically
upon reopening the lens cover

* Accommodating Presentation Modes -- Offers eight unique color modes,
including blackboard mode and theater mode, so the projector can
display optimal performance in a variety of environments

* Precise Color Control -- Custom color mode allows for the individual
adjustment of each color's hue and saturation from six different axes,
providing total control over the look and feel of images for
photography slideshows

* Dual Brightness Modes -- Offers two levels of brightness, allowing
lamp life to be extended up to 3,000 hours

* Epson 3LCD Technology -- Using Epson 3LCD technology, the projectors'
three-chip engine delivers natural color and more intense, sharper
images; it is a solid-state optical engine that works without a moving
color wheel and produces precise color reproduction, detailed video
and data images that are crisp and rainbow-free
