Analogix Delivers Industry's First Multi-Function DisplayPort(TM) Receiver

DisplayPort Solution Expected to Have Widespread Adoption in PC Monitors and Notebook Computer Displays

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 3 /-- Analogix Semiconductor, an innovator in high performance analog and mixed signal devices for the digital media market, today announced it is sampling the industry's first multi- function DisplayPort(TM) Receiver IC. Called the ANX9811, Analogix's DisplayPort receiver, when matched with the ANX9801 DisplayPort Transmitter, provides a complete, high performance and cost effective DisplayPort solution.

The ANX9811 is designed for use in multi-input PC monitors, direct-drive PC monitors, and notebook computer displays. The ANX9811 supports the full DisplayPort data rate of 10.8 Gbps, receiving deep color palettes at WQXGA resolution using a single interconnect cable, up to 2.2 times the data rate commonly available with other solutions.

"We've invested in DisplayPort technology for several years and we're seeing rapid progress of the standard toward wide spread industry adoption," said Ed Keane, chief strategy officer of Analogix. "The ANX9811 receiver is a great compliment to our ANX9801 transmitter. We expect that our DisplayPort components will be used broadly in PCs, LCD monitors and notebook computers."

Analogix was one of the key semiconductor manufacturers to participate in the first-ever DisplayPort plugtest, which was held last month in Milpitas, Calif. At this industry event the interoperability of both the ANX9811 and the ANX9801 were verified at full bandwidth using a 15m cable. The success of semiconductor, cable and equipment manufacturers at this event represents an important step in confirming the robustness and market readiness of the open DisplayPort standard.

In addition to the ANX9811 DisplayPort Receiver and the ANX9801 DisplayPort Transmitter, Analogix expects to deliver a full family of related DisplayPort devices in the first half of 2007, including a DisplayPort Receiver with integrated content protection that will provide a complete hardware solution for protected digital media content as required in the Windows Vista Premium Logo program.

Analogix will demonstrate the ANX9811 DisplayPort receiver and the ANX9801 DisplayPort Transmitter, as well as its full suite of HDMI products, at International CES, which will be held January 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in exhibit #35559.

About DisplayPort
The DisplayPort interface specification is backed by Dell, HP, Lenovo, AMD (previously ATI), NVIDIA, Genesis, Samsung, Philips, LG and other leaders in the PC and display markets. DisplayPort provides a high-quality content- protected digital interface for video and audio content in a highly extensible format. This enables a wide range of source and display devices to be simply and securely connected. The standard has broad applications including LCD monitors and notebook computer displays, as well as PCs and other sources of image content. DisplayPort is an open standard that provides plug and play interoperability and cost competitive solutions.
