Mousetrapper Advance is Launched in the UK

30 January 2007: As a result of continued consumer demand, Swedish design firm Mousetrapper Nordic, has launched the Mousetrapper Advance for the first time in the UK through distributor Mousetrapper UK. The Mousetrapper Advance is a revolutionary electronic pointing device designed to help repetitive strain injury (RSI) sufferers which replaces the traditional mouse.

"RSI is a growing problem as more people use computers extensively," confirms Mary Braitch, sales manager of Mousetrapper UK. "With intelligent and ergonomic design the Mousetrapper Advance tackles this issue by integrating the operations normally performed with a mouse into the Mousetrapper device sitting in the keyboard area. It minimises excessive wrist, upper arm and shoulder movement - which causes typing strain - and therefore provides rapid relief to users suffering from many forms of RSI."

The Mousetrapper Advance is made up of a patented ergonomically designed, multi-dimensional, steering pad integrated into a cushioned wrist support area which attaches to the user's keyboard. Normal mouse functions are performed with the operators hands positioned comfortably over the Home Keys. This is calculated to facilitate work and to relieve any strain the user may encounter when operating the keyboard or mouse. Heavy keyboard users often underestimate the detrimental effect of RSI on their ability to work until too late - "RSI is easier to prevent than cure" said Mary Braitch The Mousetrapper Advance's USB connector is fitted in seconds to most PC and Apple systems and has been created to provide the same relief and benefit for both left and right-handed users.

"When the original Mousetrapper was first introduced in 1994 it revolutionised the market," continues Braitch. "This was a mechanical device which still sells very well. However, with the introduction of the new patented electronic version, the Advance product has been developed and refined to create one of the most user friendly and effective solutions to RSI available today.

"The total cost of a workstation and its operator can be in the order of £30,000 a year," explains Braitch. "So the modest additional cost of a Mousetrapper Advance, ensuring optimum comfort and minimising typing strain, is surely a wise investment - especially as it represents the equivalent of one day's absence caused by RSI symptoms."

The Mousetrapper Advance comes with a one year warranty and retails at £169.95. For further information on all Mousetrapper products, please visit www.mousetrapper.co.uk or contact Mousetrapper UK on 01428 724301.
