Motor Management System offers expansion modules.

Press Release Summary:

Simocode Pro V uses ground fault detection module to monitor motor feeders for possible ground fault. Up to 3 analog sensors can be connected to temperature module to check temperature of motor, gear oil, etc. Analog module supplements motor management system by analog inputs and outputs from 4-20 mA so level or flows can be monitored. Combined current/voltage recording module measures motor current as well as voltages up to 690 V, and monitors power-based variables.

Graded Expansion:The Simcode Pro Motor Management System

Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has equipped the Simocode pro motor management system with new expansion modules. The Simocode pro V (Variable) range can now be expanded in steps by modules for ground fault detection, temperature, analog value and current/voltage recording, and individually adapted to any customer application.

The ground fault detection module with additional summation current transformer monitors motor feeders for a possible ground fault. Up to three analog sensors (Pt100/Pt1000) can be connected to the temperature module to check the temperature, e.g. of motor or gear oil, directly on the drive. From the middle of 2005, the analog module will supplement the motor management system by analog inputs and outputs (0/4 - 20 mA). Levels or flows can then be monitored. The combined current/voltage recording module supports energy management up to the motor feeder. It measures the motor current as well as voltages up to 690 V, and monitors power-based variables such as active power or power factor. The Simocode ES Graphic editor supplements the Simocode ES parameterization software. Users can link function blocks and set parameters using drag & drop.
