Liebert Introduces Universal Monitor For Computer Support Systems


Versatile Solution Provides Monitoring, Control and Remote Communications for Critical Applications

COLUMBUS, Ohio, (August 26, 2003) ­ Liebert® Corporation, an Emerson Network Power Company, today announced the availability of Universal Monitor, a microprocessor-based alarm and notification system for high availability computer facilities.

The Universal Monitor works with a broad range of support systems from a variety of manufacturers and provides continuous monitoring of analog and digital inputs from critical space sensors and equipment, alerting support personnel of potential problems. Alarm messages and notifications can be displayed on-site, sent to pagers, or communicated to Liebert's SiteScan® Web enterprise monitoring system. It provides a simple, easy-to-set up monitoring solution for computer and server rooms, process control areas, telecom switch rooms, remote communications shelters, communications closets and equipment rooms. Its versatility enables it to provide high availability monitoring while also performing control strategies.

A built-in LCD interface provides access to the minimal setup and configuration requirements. An integrated on-board modem eliminates cumbersome modem configurations and mounting issues. Factory settings allow for monitoring and alarming out of the box.
