APEM Offers IF Series Frost-Resistant Pushbutton Switches

Momentary switches combine reliability with color and style

Haverhill, MA - APEM Components, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high quality miniature and industrial switches, offers the IF series of momentary pushbutton switches, designed to withstand frost and icing conditions encountered in applications where equipment experiences unprotected environmental exposure, and must meet ergonomic and contemporary cosmetic requirements. Typical applications include: mobile and stationary remote controls for fuel, chemicals and pneumatic delivery; equipment operation and control panels; ATM machines; vending machines; and outdoor kiosks.

IF models feature a 1.180" diameter black or red panel mounting bezel, with a flexible rubber-like actuator that provides 500,000 cycles of life at full load in temperatures from -20ºC to 85ºC. Electrical ratings for single pole NO models are 400 mA at 32 VDC or 100mA at 50 VDC. Mechanical life is 1,000,000 cycles minimum. Additional features include a high insulation resistance of 1 gigohm at 500 VDC and dielectric strength of 1000 VAC rms between terminals and mounting panel. Contacts are solid silver, gold-plated.

Actuators are available in 7 cosmetic color choices that include blue, black, green, yellow, red, white and orange. Combination quick-connect/solder terminals are standard.

IF models mount in a .630" diameter panel hole, and 2 options are offered; one uses a hex nut (supplied) on the threaded bushing of the switch body, while the other is hardwareless and snap-fits securely into the panel hole. Both options are supplied with a panel sealed washer. Threaded models are sealed to meet IP 67 requirements, while snap-in models meet IP54.
