Material Handling Tooling Flexible for Changing Needs

Rockland, MA, July 8, 2003: PIAB Vacuum Products, suppliers of compact, maintenance-free vacuum pumps and accessories, announces the launch of a new line of modular automation tooling.

PIAB's Modular Automation Tooling (PMAT) allows you to construct vacuum end effector tools to meet your exact needs with minimal design time. The tooling system, which is made of mostly hard-coat anodized aluminum, is lightweight and easy to assemble on-site without welding or use of special tools.

The PMAT system can be used to construct end effector tools for use on any automation equipment needs you may have.

The tooling consists of a swivel arm assembly with a choice of various functional attachments that includes a vacuum pump. The air-driven vacuum pump provides both vacuum pressure through COAX(TM) technology and a connection for blow-off pressure and can be equipped with a check valve feature called VacTrap®.

COAX(TM) is a new and improved design based on PIAB's innovative multi-stage concept for creating vacuum with compressed air. The result is a smaller, more efficient, more reliable and highly flexible technology that allows you to design a modular system.

VacTrap® is a vacuum innovation that "traps" vacuum pressure for an indefinite period in a leak-free system. This feature allows parts to be handled safely in case of a system interruption or failure.
