Zebra Technologies' New QL Plus Mobile Printers Keep Data Safe and Customers Satisfied With Fast Processing and Secure Data Transfers

VERNON HILLS, Ill., Jan. 10 / -- To satisfy customers, many businesses have streamlined internal operations by giving more workers real-time access to network and account information. But in some cases, businesses are putting their customers at great risk. Zebra Technologies (NASDAQ:ZBRA), a global leader in delivering on-demand specialty printing solutions for business and process improvement, today introduced the powerful QL Plus mobile printer, an enhanced version of Zebra's QL series. The new QL Plus printers are designed to handle increased levels of wireless security and process complex applications up to four times faster, making them ideal for the secure transfer of encrypted data, from price lists and shipping schedules to customer information and medical records.

"When it comes to sensitive data, a wireless network is only as secure as its weakest device," explained Robert Danahy, director of global mobile and wireless technology for Zebra. "Without advanced encryption protocols, any system is vulnerable to hackers. Zebra's QL Plus helps companies protect their networks by providing the latest advanced network security protocols, encryption, and mutual authentication, including VPN (virtual private network) and WPA (wi-fi protected access) as well as EAP-TLS and other future protocols that may emerge."

In addition to its advanced security features, the new QL Plus series is equipped with a high-speed, 32-bit processor and a large memory capacity for printing complex formats and fonts, such as Kanji (Japanese characters) as well as other Asian character sets. The new QL Plus also features an enhanced radio design for faster communications and USB 2.0 connectivity for quick file transfers. No other mobile printer offers as much functionality and data security.

Customers can choose from several advanced wireless connectivity options supported by the QL Plus, such as wireless local area networks (LANs), 802.11b, and Bluetooth technology with Zebra's flexible QuickLink radio modules. As needs change, or new wireless standards emerge, QuickLink upgrade modules are available, offering the customer investment protection.
