Big Performance from Tiny Sensors: Introducing the "Mighty Miniatures" from Baumer Electric
Southington, Conn. -- May 29, 2002. Baumer Electric has introduced a full line of miniature inductive sensors that deliver superior performance in the tightest mounting applications. The line includes highly compact Series 03, 04, 05, 06, and 08 inductive proximity switches that incorporate the latest ASIC and flip chip technology, and are equipped with short-circuit, reverse polarity, voltage surge, and EMT protection.
Series 03 cylindrical design miniature-housing sensors are designed to fully integrate electronics into the sensor head, allowing these 3 mm diameter products to be manufactured as small as 16 mm in length. By utilizing an in-line amplifier, a
sensor requiring only 12 mm of mounting depth is also available. In the Mighty Miniature line, Series 04 and 05 sensors are up to 20 percent shorter than their predecessors. The short-body 4 mm sensor measures just 36 mm in length and features an M8 x 1 connector.
The world's smallest inductive sensor in a rectangular design, the stainless steel Baumer Electric 4 mm rectangular sensor is just 22 mm in length and features a built-in LED status indicator. Rectangular sensors are available in 4, 6, and 8 mm designs.
Series 06 and 08 compact proximity switches offer housing lengths as short as 28 mm and feature an M8 x 1 quick disconnect connector. Baumer Series 08 sensors are the shortest proximity switches in the world to offer an M8 x 1 quick disconnect and full-body threading.
