60 Percent Larger Sensing Distance: New Inductive Sensor Series in Miniature Size

Baumer’s new IFRM04/05 series inductive sensors with 1.6mm sensing distance offer the greatest range of any sensor with greater than 1 kHz switching frequency

Southington, Conn. – With the expansion of its inductive sensor series IFRM04/05, Baumer has achieved a perfect balance between functionality and compactness. With 1.6 mm, the inductive sensors offer the largest sensing distance for sensors with a switching frequency greater than 1 kHz. Baumer has therefore greatly expanded its existing wide product portfolio in the miniature class.

Baumer has increased the sensing distance by 60 percent over the previous IFRM 04/05 series. This makes mounting easier for the user because the sensor allows higher tolerances. In addition, the number of possible applications is larger because the distance of the sensor to the scanning object can vary more widely.

The minimum dimensions of the sensors enable their use even in the most compact applications. Even better, the entire electronic circuit is also completely integrated even in the smallest sensor of this series, which is only four millimeters in diameter and 20 millimeters long.

The IFRM04/05 series is well suited for use in automatic handling and/or assembly machines and wherever space is at a premium and it might seem that traditional sensors will not fit.
