Mini PLCs suit micro-automation applications.

Press Release Summary:

CPU Models 224 and 226 of Series S7-200 mini PLCs provide 24 kB program memory capacity and 10 kB data memory. Model 224 XP offers 16 kB program memory, 2 interfaces, 2 analog inputs, 1 analog output, two 100 kHz pulse outputs, and two 200 kHz counters. Model TD 200C text display is coordinated with Simatic S7-200 devices and performs HMI tasks. As many as 20 keys can be positioned as required and images, symbols, colors, and text can be freely designed.

Original Press Release:

Extended Range for Micro-Automation

The standard CPUs 224 and 226 of the Simatic S7-200 mini PLCs from Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) are now 40 percent faster than before. Their program memory capacity has also been increased by 50 percent to as much as 24 KB and their data memory to 10 KB. There is also a new version CPU 224 XP which has a 16 KB program memory and a 10 KB data memory. Also new is the TD 200C text display which is specially coordinated with the Simatic S7-200 devices and performs simple HMI tasks.

The new CPU 224 XP has two interfaces, so that one device to be controlled and one operator panel can be connected simultaneously, for example. Two analog inputs and one analog output, as well as two 100 KHz pulse outputs and two fast 200 KHz counters are also integrated. These features allow simple drive tasks to be performed.

The user interface of the new TD 200C is set up individually according to the customer's wishes. The size and layout of the keys are configurable; as many as 20 keys can be positioned as required on the user interface. Images, symbols, colors and text can be freely designed, e.g. for individual graphics and corporate logos. The "faceplate", which is generated by means of a graphical configuration tool, is printed out on a transparency and the corresponding keys are then assigned to the text display.
