Overview
DB2® CommonStore for SAP helps customers offload operational SAP databases work with non SAP documents from within SAP Business Objects, and process business documents that reside in an external archiving system.
It supports any SAP operational database such as DB2 Universal Database(TM), Informix®, Oracle, etc.
V8.3 enhances archive customization, SAP Cache Server support, secure http communications, and adds Linux support.
It is SAP AG certified for all current releases - SAP R/3 Enterprise, mySAP.com, and SAP NetWeaver framework.
CommonStore for SAP is a middleware server between the SAP ArchiveLink interface and a (required) back-end archive. It integrates documents into SAP applications such as: SAP Document Management System (DMS) allowing users to archive in batch instead of one document at a time.
SAP R/3 Document Finder for access to any enterprise content stored in Content Manager or DB2 CM OnDemand -- not just SAP archived items.
SAP Workflow Integration to start workflow from document capture outside SAP.

Back-end Archives include DB2 Content Manager, DB2 Content Manager for z/OS®, DB2 Content Manager for iSeries(TM), DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplaforms, DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for iSeries, and IBM® Tivoli® Storage Manager. CommonStore manages data and document store and retrieve from the archives as defined by SAP ArchiveLink protocol.
Web viewing integrates DB2 Content Manager CommonStore with your messaging system.
FormsLink integrates forms management software from vendors such as Adobe and LaserSoft with the CommonStore archiving functions.
DocUpload makes it easy to archive data and documents from external applications and link them with R/3 business processes.
