Microwave Sensor protects industrial automatic doors.

Press Release Summary:

Falcon uses microprocessor and planar antenna to generate stable sensing field that activates door only when needed, eliminating unwarranted door openings. Unit can be set to detect approaching vehicular traffic while disregarding pedestrian traffic and parallel vehicular traffic. It can also be customized for uni-directional approach or bi-directional sensing, as well as uni-directional depart. Parameters are adjusted via remote control or waterproof push buttons on sensor.

Sensor Protects Industrial Automatic Doors

Pittsburgh, Pa. (August 18, 2004) - Leading automatic door sensor manufacturer B.E.A., Inc. (BEA), has developed a microwave sensor suitable for use with all industrial automatic doors.

The Falcon's state-of-the-art microprocessor and planar antenna generate a highly precise and stable sensing field which is able to activate the door when needed and eliminate unwarranted door openings. The unit can be set to detect approaching vehicular traffic while disregarding pedestrian traffic and parallel vehicular traffic. By preventing unnecessary door openings for pedestrians and parallel traffic, the Falcon promotes energy efficiency, generating cost savings on heating and air conditioning.

Multiple applications can be accommodated by the Falcon as it can be customized for uni-directional approach or bi-directional sensing, as well as uni-directional depart, which is the unique ability to open a door when traffic is moving away from the sensor. All key parameters, including the directional modes, are easily adjusted via remote control or the waterproof push buttons located on the front of the sensor.

The Falcon is an excellent alternative to loop detectors, which are unable to differentiate parallel traffic and often require costly facility modification for installation. The Falcon unit mounts easily on either a wall or ceiling using a universal bracket. Two models are available for optimal performance regardless of mounting height. The rugged unit is NEMA-4 rated, ensuring that it is both dustproof and weatherproof.
