Microsoft Supports Wincor Nixdorf in Development of Real-Time Business Intelligence and Analytics Capabilities for TP Enterprise Solution Suite

DUSSELDORF, Germany, February 27 // --

- Retailers to benefit from greater visibility of and control over store systems.

Today at EuroCIS 2007, Wincor Nixdorf, a leading provider of retail solutions, presented the first version of TPAnalyze, which provides additional functionality to Wincor's TP.net, its leading retail software solution that is currently employed by 34 retail companies in 19 countries.

TPAnalyze will enable retailers to centrally administer store processes with greater transparency as well as access vital real-time information to help them manage their stores more efficiently.

TPAnalyze was developed using Microsoft(R) Business Intelligence technologies, including collaboration solution Microsoft Office SharePoint(R) Server 2007, SQL Server(TM) 2005 and Excel(R) 2007 to offer three principle functions; a control centre for command of all company store systems, an analytic function to provide real-time analysis and reports of store data and a campaign analysis tool that enables retailers to monitor the real impact of promotional campaigns.

By using Microsoft business intelligence applications, Wincor Nixdorf has made TPAnalyze fast and easy to integrate with a retail organisation's existing infrastructure. Once deployed, it provides staff with access to, and full visibility of, actionable, real-time information tailored to their needs, enabling them to work more strategically and efficiently.

Dilip Popat, managing director of Microsoft EMEA, retail industry, said, "By providing the right technology we can help people throughout the organisation to see, understand, interact with and respond to situations within and outside the store. Together with our support and technologies, Wincor Nixdorf has developed TPAnalyze to provide retailers - be they store managers, area managers or company managers - with the data they need in real-time, enabling them to focus their attention on the important aspects of the business. This represents a significant step forward in visibility within a retail business in vital areas such as supply chain, sales and resourcing. In this way, managers are more productive and efficient and can make a greater contribution to the success of the business."

Michael Schulte, marketing director at Wincor Nixdorf, said, "Microsoft's support and technology has been vital to the development of TPAnalyze and we look forward to further strengthening our partnership. We believe that retailers will derive great benefit from TPAnalyze's real-time business intelligence and analytics capabilities. The ability to integrate TPAnalyze easily and quickly with existing systems will enable retailers to focus on what is most important to them and to the success of the business; maximising sales."

Microsoft Business Intelligence is a complete suite of server, client and developer products that supports all facets of decision-making. These applications are designed to be simple and user friendly, making it easy for employees, from store managers to category and financial managers, to create, edit and publish their own reports. These results can be viewed through portals and accessed from touch points, including mobile devices such as smartphones, PDAs and Tablet PCs. Results can also be analysed through tools (such as Microsoft Office Excel) that provide capabilities for a deeper drill-down of information.
