Cygnal Introduces Microcontroller with Dual 1MSPS 16-bit ADCs



April 21, 2003 - AUSTIN, TX - Cygnal Integrated Products, Inc. today announced the C8051F060, a mixed-signal flash microcontroller with two ultra-low power 16-bit one million samples per second (1MSPS) A/D converters. These successive-approximation (SAR) ADCs are accurate to one least significant bit integral non-linearity (INL), and have 89dB SINAD. Consuming only 20mW per ADC, these are the lowest power ADCs available at comparable performance levels. The C8051F060 is perfect for a variety of analog intensive embedded applications, including weight scales, industrial and medical measurement, and smart sensors.

On-chip peripherals include two 12-bit DACs, a 2% internal oscillator, temperature sensor, voltage reference, CAN 2.0B controller with 32 message objects, two UARTs, SMBus®, and SPI® bus. Prices start at $16.84 in 10,000 piece quantities.

The C8051F060 has on-chip debug circuitry facilitating full-speed in-system debug features such as single-stepping, breakpoints, and modifying registers and memory. The C8051F060DK Development kit sells for $299 with features typical of in-circuit emulators costing much more.
