Thales Computers Introduces PMC-DAADIO Multi-Function Digital/Analog I/O Board

Raleigh, NC, January 2003 - Thales Computers, a leader in providing PowerPC and Pentium-based VME computing solutions to OEMs and system integrators, introduces the PMC-DAADIO, a new multi-function PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) that provides high-speed digital and analog I/O for controlling and monitoring a wide range of external functions.

The new PMC-DAADIO incorporates an onboard Motorola DSP56F807 Digital Signal Processor, enabling it to manage a variety of external I/O-intensive applications while minimizing demands on the processing capability of the PMC host. The new board provides eight differential analog input channels, as well as eight single-ended analog outputs, all operating at 12-bit resolution, in addition to 18 TTL digital I/O lines and counter/timer I/O.

The new board is ideal for applications requiring intensive digital and analog I/O in harsh environments, such as digital radio, fire control systems, system monitoring, and closed-loop control systems. The conduction-cooled version of the new PMC-DAADIO features outstanding resistance to shock and vibration making this version especially well suited for mobile applications. In addition, the PMC-DAADIO's differential inputs provide a high-level of noise immunity and exceptional common mode rejection, ensuring accuracy even in noisy, high-interference environments.
