Amtak Fasteners Announces Introduction of Revolutionary Twist-Tack(TM)
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI, March 23, 2004 -- Amtak Fasteners announces the introduction of its self-piercing Twist-Tack(TM) metal fastener. The one-step fasteners attach materials such as rubber, plastic and thin gauge aluminum to steel tubing, aluminum extrusion or lightweight metal castings. The Twist-Tack(TM) achieves hundreds of pounds of withdrawal resistance when applied with a compression riveter, a single impact air tool or Amtak Bench Press.
The patent-pending Twist-Tacks fasten quickly because they do not require a predrilled hole in either the attachment or the base metal. The fastener first punches a hole in the attachment and then forms an anchor cone in the base metal. Fastening takes place when the knurled section of the fastener engages the anchor cone with a cutting, twisting and wedging motion.
