Cost-Cutting SilverPlus® Technology Now Available for Hypertherm® HyDefinition® HD3070 Systems

Hanover, NH, USA - Continuing its commitment to improving the performance of metal cutting systems already in service, Hypertherm has made its patented SilverPlus electrode technology available for the HyDefinition HD3070 100-amp oxygen process. The large number of HD3070 systems in use worldwide will now be able to achieve lower operating costs and longer process life than with any aftermarket consumables or torches.

First introduced in 2002, SilverPlus technology has proven to increase electrode life in a wide range of cutting applications. In recently conducted field tests on the HD3070 100-amp process, the new SilverPlus electrode (part number 220408), shielded nozzle (part number 220508) and shield adapter (part number 2209508) delivered parts life double that of the best existing aftermarket offerings.

"SilverPlus technology dramatically boosts electrode life and improves cut quality. It will now give HD3070 systems in the field significantly better overall performance than any other technology could provide," said Phil Parker, Product Manager of Hypertherm's Torch and Consumable Team. "We're confident these new parts will really outperform what our competitors have to offer."

In addition to the new electrode, shielded nozzle and shield adapter, Hypertherm's 100-amp SilverPlus process for the HD3070 uses the existing swirl ring, inner retaining cap and outer retaining cap from the standard 100-amp process. Hypertherm offers a special startup kit that includes a sampling of three nozzle and electrode sets as well as other consumables necessary to convert to SilverPlus. Quick setup instructions promise HD3070 users ease-of-use with the new consumables.
