Fluke Unveils New 5kV MegOhmMeter(TM)
Features incremental ramp function, automatic key parameter calculations and a fast, simple PC interface
EVERETT, WA - Fluke Corporation, a world leader in compact, professional electronic test tools, has introduced a new 5kV insulation resistance tester. The Fluke 1550B MegOhmMeter(TM)
replaces the Fluke 1550 MegOhmMeter and combines insulation resistance testing up to 5000 V with measurement storage and PC interface software making it ideal for installation testing,
preventive maintenance and commissioning.
Designed for industrial electricians, plant maintenance personnel, utility technicians and anyone who installs, repairs or maintains switchgear, motors, generators or cables, the 1550B features:
o Standard test voltages starting at 250 V
o New programmable test voltages available in 50 volt steps from 250 to 1000 volts and 10 volt steps from 1000 to 5000 volts
o Automatic calculation of dielectric absorption and polarization index with no setup
o Improved ramp function from 0 to 5000 V dc for breakdown testing
o Measurement storage in 99 memory locations, each assignable a unique, user defined, four character (alpha-numeric) label for easy recall
o Improved results download to a Windows --based computer using the Quicklink 1550B software and optical interface cable that come with the meter.
Easy to use, the meter provides insulation resistance testing up to one teraohm, with five standard output voltages: 250 V, 500 V, 1000 V, 2500 V, 5000 V. The Fluke 1550B's, warning
voltage alerts notify the user that voltage is present and give the voltage reading up to 600 V ac or dc. With its large, fast-responding analog/digital display, The Fluke 1550B shows
measurement changes graphically with easy-to-read analog bar graphs as well as digital measurements. The last-reading memory display is ideal for insulation resistance and lo-ohms readings.
Battery-Powered, Safety-Rated
The Fluke 1550B is powered by a high-capacity, rechargeable 12-volt battery that provides enough energy for up to 2,500 tests. In addition, the meter is fully tested to comply with EN 61010-1, CAT III 600 V overvoltage rating, EN 61557 installation testing, and EN 61326 EMI immunity.
