MedQuist Introduces New Version of Industry-Leading, Interactive Front-End Speech Recognition

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., Feb. 21 -- MedQuist Inc. (Pink Sheets: MEDQ.PK) announces the availability of SpeechQ for Radiology(TM) version 1.2, the latest release of the interactive technology that has been rated number one for front-end speech recognition by customers in the KLAS 2006 and 2007 Speech Recognition Reports.(1)

Highlights of the new SpeechQ for Radiology v. 1.2 include:

-- Faster authentication of radiology reports via SpeechQ's new QuickSign
Module.
-- Easy-to-use Auto-Text Explorer with "drag & drop" or double-click
options (which are in addition to utilizing voice commands).
-- A customizable Graphical User Interface that allows facilities to match
their internal brand look/feel by changing the GUI skins, buttons, etc.
-- Improvements in SpeechQ date range filters for convenient sorting of
reports, and improved access for customized reporting.
-- Multiple user access to workflow administration to improve the
management of the SpeechQ system.
-- Improved password and security features.
-- Improved failover recovery using virtualization technology, providing
customers with economical and industry standard methods of disaster
recovery without the need for redundant hardware.
-- Additional infrastructure and performance improvements.

According to Chris Spring, MedQuist senior product manager for Speech Recognition Solutions, "We have completed these significant performance optimizations of SpeechQ in response to specific requests and suggestions from our customers. We will continue to set the standard for front-end speech recognition in the marketplace."

Jason Koller, director of Imagecast & SpeechQ at Inland Imaging LLC, Spokane, Wash., a beta site for SpeechQ v. 1.2, notes, "We have found that the new QuickSign feature is a significant benefit to our attending radiologists. They are able to quickly access residents' reports, and can even open images on our Philips iSite(TM) PACS from SpeechQ. This allows the residents and attending physicians to focus on the clinical aspects of the patient's exam and not on system navigation."

Powered by the Philips SpeechMagic(TM) speech engine, SpeechQ for Radiology integrates with most radiology-specific information systems and PACS. For more information, contact a local MedQuist representative or dial 1-800-233-3030 for sales assistance.
