15, 20 and 30 Watt DC-DC Converters for Medical Applications

Power Sources Unlimited, Inc. announces the addition of three new series of medical dc-dc converters with wide 4:1 input voltage range that are housed in a compact plastic package to our TRACO Power portfolio. The expanded THM Series now includes 15, 20 and 30 watt output power in both single 5, 12, 15, 24VDC and dual ±5, ±12 and ±15VDC output voltages. All units are approved to IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 3rd edition for 2x MOPP (Means Of Patient Protection) and BF rated medical compliance. The THM Series models are a reliable solution for medical equipment but also for demanding applications such as transportation, control & measurement and IGBT drivers.

These highly efficient dc-dc converters provide a reinforced insulation system for 5000 VACrms with a very low leakage current of less than 2.5µA. They are approved for an operating altitude of up to 5000m. Standard features include overload, over temperature and short circuit protection and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C without derating. Design and manufacturing conform to the quality management system ISO 13485 and the converters operate within the EMC emission and immunity levels according to latest standard IEC 60601-1-2 4th edition. Each converter come along with the risk management file according ISO 14971.
