Medical Coaches, Siemens Unveil World's First Mobile Biograph(TM) TruePoint(TM) PEToCT Featuring High Definition

Mobile HDoPET enables superior detection and greater staging capabilities, therapy accuracy

ONEONTA, NY. June 1, 2007 - Medical Coaches, Inc., a 56-year-old firm based in Oneonta, NY, and Siemens (NYSE: SI) today unveiled the industry's first mobile HD-ready, Biograph TruePoint(TM) PEToCT system, at the 2007 Society of Nuclear Medicine Annual Meeting (SNM), held June 2-6 in Washington, DC (Booth No. 1455).

The mobile coach, the latest in a long line of mobile technologies created by Medical Coaches and Siemens, opens the door to one of the leading technologies in molecular imaging for imaging centers, clinics and hospitals who rely on mobile imaging units. Geoff Smith, president of Medical Coaches, says, "Siemens' approach to development of the new TruePoint mobile system has been outstanding. Customers will be assured of PEToCT and mobile reliability for the life of the system."

The system will be housed in a customized 46-foot Medical Coaches rig, creating a self-contained radiology suite on wheels, fully equipped with an HD-ready Siemens Biograph TruePoint PEToCT system, two workstations, two patient prep areas, a hot lab room and a control room to optimize workflow.

Siemens recently unveiled its latest imaging technology for PEToCT - a high definition package that redefines the clarity of PEToCT. High definition PET - or HDoPET - provides distortion-free imaging throughout the entire field of view, improving resolution to 2 mm, and thus enabling physicians to clearly visualize the smallest of lesions from the center of the field of view to the edges. The addition of high definition to PET also dramatically enhances contrast, and doubles signal-to-noise ratio, revealing sharper images that allow the clinician to better differentiate between healthy and abnormal tissue

Our goal is to provide all medical communities with access to the latest and best in molecular imaging the moment the technology is available," said Michael Reitermann, president, Molecular Imaging, Siemens Medical Solutions. "By making HDoPET mobile from the outset, patients living in any area of the country can benefit from the promise of earlier, more-targeted cancer diagnosis."

HDoPET can improve clinical outcomes by enhancing the detection of small abdominal lesions and can improve the accuracy of radiotherapy planning in that it provides superior detection of the true extent of the lesion. It will also be invaluable in monitoring patients who have had surgery or therapy because it will enable physicians to identify small early recurrences of head and neck malignancies.
