Media suits rigid filter applications.

Press Release Summary:

Intrepid® Rigid Pleat Media provides mix of fiber diameters to ensure high efficiency while minimizing pressure drop. It will not absorb moisture or support microbial or fungal growth. Continuous filaments will not shed fibers. Manufactured without use of chemical binders, media is available in 65, 85, and 95% efficiency levels, making it suited for aluminum separator filters, minipleat filters, and v-bank filters.

Original Press Release:

Kimberly-Clark Introduces Intrepid® Media for Rigid Filter Applications

ROSWELL, Ga. (August 25, 2004) - Kimberly-Clark Filtration Products introduces Intrepid® Rigid Pleat Media, a family of synthetic media for 65-95% efficient rigid filter products including aluminum separator filters, minipleat filters, and v-bank filters. The new media offers lower pressure drop and higher durability than conventional glass media.

Intrepid® Rigid Pleat Media is available in three efficiency levels: 65% efficient (MERV 11), 85% efficient (MERV 13-14), and 95% efficient (MERV 14-15).

Intrepid® Rigid Pleat Media reduces energy consumption and provides cost savings to end-users compared with existing filters using glass media. To assist in determining the economic benefit of adopting the new filter media, Kimberly-Clark has developed an Energy Cost Analysis software program which calculates the energy consumption and resulting energy cost associated with various filter options. The software is available from manufacturers and distributors that carry the line of Intrepid® Rigid Pleat Media.

The media's unique structure is designed to provide a mix of fiber diameters to ensure high efficiency while minimizing pressure drop. Its design features a gradient density structure which provides a solid mechanical foundation to maintain high efficiency over the useful life of the filter.

As with all Intrepid® Filter Media, the new Intrepid® Rigid Pleat Media will not absorb moisture or support microbial or fungal growth. The media is manufactured with continuous filaments and will not shed fibers. It also is manufactured without the use of chemical binders.
