ViXS' 40 nm XCode® 5190 Sets New Standards for Media Concurrency with Six Channel HD Transcoding
TORONTO, -- ViXS Systems Inc., a leading provider of smart network multimedia processor solutions that enable a rich video entertainment experience, announced today the latest in its line-up of multimedia processing technologies - the XCode® 5190. This highly integrated System-on-Chip (SOC) brings a new level of concurrency and integration, delivering simultaneous six channel HD (high definition) transcoding performance to the set-top box and home media gateway markets.
The XCode® 5190 powers set-top box and home media gateway devices by enabling true content mobility, sharing and distribution across multiple classes of devices, including: set-top boxes; HD media players; PCs; laptops; tablets; and mobile phones, within any digitally connected home. ViXS' patented transcoding engine, low power consumption, high levels of integration, and Xtensiv(TM) software stack, create a robust feature set that supports emerging Internet Protocol (IP) based streaming devices, as well as broadcast, Internet TV and Over-The-Top (OTT) video services.
Launched only five months after the XCode® 4210, the XCode® 5190 has a highly flexible architecture, which is a hallmark of all of ViXS' SOCs. The XCode® 5190 is also highly adaptable and scalable, allowing manufacturers to customize their solutions and enable new applications.
