Original Press Release:

Instron® Offers a New Package with Touchpanel Controller for QC Testing

Instron, a leading provider of testing equipment designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, offers the Model 3345 "QC Package", a complete, out-of-the-box mechanical testing system for tension and compression testing. The Model 3345 is ideally suited for quality control and component testing, ensuring that manufacturing processes meet relevant test standards, while providing results that exceed customer expectations.

Instron's 3345 QC Package is comprised of a 5 kN (1000 lbf) testing machine, a new state-of-the-art TouchPanel controller, 5 kN tensile wedge grips and two compression platens. The intuitive TouchPanel screens are not only easy to learn and use, they also eliminate the need for PCs and take up less lab space. For increased productivity, the TouchPanel controller offers two testing modes: the 'Quick Test' mode for simple, one-time tests; and 'Method-Based Testing' used for structured, pre-configured test applications. TouchPanel options include USB interfaces to a printer, memory stick and keyboard (for ease of alpha-numeric entry). Additionally, the serial port option allows TouchPanel users to transfer test results directly to a PC during testing for Statistical Process Control (SPC) or databasing purposes.
