Level Measurement/Control System Supplies Water Industry Demands for Flexibility and Functionality
A new modular level measurement and control system, featuring a choice of ultrasonic or hydrostatic level transmitters which are designed for a wide range of clean or wastewater level and differential level measurement/control applications, has been introduced by Solartron Mobrey of Houston, Texas.
The MSP900SH, an ultrasonic level transmitter with a range of 39 feet, is a 24V loop-powered device factory-sealed in a UPVC housing. The 9700, the system's hydrostatic transmitter, is manufactured in 316 stainless steel with a corrosion-resistant ceramic capacitive sensing cell. Both transmitters are supplied complete with integral cable, ready for installation.
The control unit is available as either a wall- or panel-mounted unit, and each uses a common microprocessor platform for compatibility of instrumentation and high functionality. Five programmable relays are provided for alarm duties and/or control of up to four pumps, including duty assist, duty standby, scum line prevention, pump rotation, pumped volume calculation, efficiency and real time control for energy savings. A 4-20mA output allows connection to a remote indicator or site supervisory system; HART communications allow for uninterrupted contact between the MCU900 and the ultrasonic transmitter.
