4th Annual Awards Honor Technology Innovation in New England
SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 13 / -- McAfee Inc. was recognized with a Customer Impact Award at the 2007 MITX Technology Awards. The MITX Technology Awards, presented by the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange, recognize innovative technologies developed in the New England area, as well as the individuals and organizations responsible for driving those advancements. Honorees for this year's awards were announced at a ceremony at The Four Season's Hotel in Boston.

The Customer Impact award recognizes an innovative technology product or service that has made a significant impact by creating a thoughtful and effective customer support mechanism in delivering the technology. McAfee SiteAdvisor is a FREE Web safety tool which tests and rates, on an ongoing basis, nearly every trafficked site on the Internet for a wide variety of Web safety issues. It provides consumers with advance warnings of dangerous and risky Web sites such as those that may deliver spyware, adware, exploits, excessive pop-ups and spam. It also integrates feedback from individual users and analysis by McAfee staff to enhance SiteAdvisor's automated testing and to reveal potential online scams.
