New Crestron Digitalmedia(TM) Matrix Switcher Models Offer Redundant Power Supplies

DM-MD8X8-RPS, 16X16-RPS and 32X32-RPS Switchers Ideal for Mission-Critical Applications

ROCKLEIGH, NJ - Crestron today announced new DigitalMedia(TM) (DM) matrix switchers with extremely long-life, redundant power supplies (RPS). Crestron DM switchers provide the foundation for a complete DigitalMedia system, delivering an advanced, true high-definition multi-room AV signal routing solution that's extremely flexible and installer-friendly. Delivering low-latency switching and pure, lossless distribution of HDMI(TM) and other signals, DM matrix switchers are card-based and field-configurable. All models include the same built-in, exceptionally robust 1M hour MTBF power supply; the RPS models add redundancy to further ensure continuous reliable operation throughout the life of the system. RPS model switchers are ideal for broadcast environments and government applications such as Network Operations, Command and Control and Emergency Operations.

Redundant power supplies in DM matrix switchers deliver uninterrupted operation with a demonstrated MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) of more than 1,000,000 hours. LEDs on the front panel show the status of each individual power supply. Remote monitoring is also available, via Crestron RoomView® software or any control system touchpanel.

"DM matrix switchers with RPS are perfect for government, military, broadcast and other mission-critical applications," explains Vincent Bruno, Crestron Director of Marketing. "To fully serve those markets, it's important that our DM switchers, especially the 32X32, meet all specs that require power redundancy."
