The new loaders are for use with methacrylate adhesives. Either can pump one pound of material into a 10 ounce cartridge tube in about seven seconds. All sizes of cartridges on the market can be accommodated, as well as bulk caulking guns. The loaders eliminate waste by preventing spillage and contamination, as well as skimming over. Additionally, they permit using all the material in the pail and eliminate messy "spurts". The manufacturer points out that material savings are up to 30% compared to hand loading methods.
Substantial savings are realized by eliminating the purchase of material in cartridges. The loader permits the operator to load his own cartridges and guns from bulk pails. The savings can be significant because a single 5 gallon pail contains enough material to fill 60 10 oz. cartridges. Many users report that savings from a single pail of bulk material are enough to pay for a loader.
The new loaders employ seals formulated for use with two-part methacrylate adhesives such as those sold by Henkel/Loctite, Plexus, Devcon or Master Bond.
