Schneider Packaging Equipment Introduces Their "Shuttle Car" for Pallet Transfer to Ease End-of-Line Operations

BREWERTON, NY (February, 2004)-- Schneider Packaging Equipment Co., Inc., specializing in end-of-line solutions for case packing and palletizing needs, introduces their Shuttle Car, an automated pallet transfer solution for end-of-line operations.

Schneider's Shuttle Car automatically transfers full pallet loads from multiple unit load build stations to a specific destination without operator interaction. The system is made up of a powered cart and conveyor that travels along a floor mounted guide rail, transferring full pallet loads at speeds up to 40 feet per minute.

"Our shuttle car not only maximizes production output by automating end-of-line operations, but it reduces labor costs by eliminating the need for fork lift operators to transfer pallet loads," says Paul Burdick, Director of Marketing & Sales.

The Shuttle Car provides consistent and stable material transfer with durability. It provides steadfast handling of unit loads that have not yet been stretch wrapped. This dependable innovation can be integrated throughout production facilities wherever the transfer of materials is required.

Constructed of robust tubular welded framing, Schneider's Shuttle Car can be configured to handle unit loads on slip sheets or wooden pallets weighing up to 5,000 lbs. The user-friendly system is operated by independent PLC integrated controls or Device Net remote I/O. The flexible cable carrier shelters and routes control wires and supplies power to the on-board panel. For protection, forward and reverse trip bumpers disable the motor.

Several conveyor options are available depending on product characteristics, including a belt-over-roller, drag chain or chain-drive-live roller conveyor. Schneider will analyze your requirements and recommend the optimal solution for each application.
