Mass Flowmeters suit non-aggressive gases.

Press Release Summary:

Employing laminar flow element, FlowStream® Meters measure mass flow of air and clean, dry industrial gases including nitrogen, argon, helium, hydrogen, natural gas, and carbon dioxide. Units read full-scale flow rates up to 2,100 scfh and 1,000 slpm with user-selectable response times from 5-500 ms. Accuracy is ±1% of FS for 2-566 slpm capacities and ±2% of accuracy for other capacities. NEMA 4 rated units are EMI immune, electrically shielded, and intrinsically safe.

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. Offers Flowstream® Mass Flowmeters for Nonaggressive Gases

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. announces its FlowStream® OFS Series of mass flowmeters for fast and accurate measurement of nonaggressive gases.

FlowStream® meters provide precise and reliable measurement of mass flow of air and clean, dry industrial gases including nitrogen, argon, helium, hydrogen, natural gas and carbon dioxide. The flowmeters are rugged, cost-effective instruments that employ Laminar Flow Element technology. Applications include blanketing gas, shielding gas for arc welding, purge gas and leak detection.

The FlowStream® meters read full-scale flow rates up to 2100 standard cubic feet per hour (SCFH) and 1000 standard liters per minute (SLPM). Readings are corrected for pressure and temperature.

Rapid response times are user selectable and range from 5 milliseconds (ms) to 500 ms. Accuracy is +/-1 percent of full scale for 2 to 566 SLPM (1200 SCFH) capacities and +/2 percent of accuracy for other capacities. The accuracy is National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) traceable.

Universal Flow Monitors' FlowStream® meters are NEMA Type 4 watertight construction for use in wet areas. They are rated EMI immune for heavy industrial use and are electrically shielded for use near welders, motors and transformers. Their EMI immunity and rapid response times allow the meters to be used in robotic applications. The meters are also rated intrinsically safe for use in hazardous locations.

FlowStream® meters are easy to use and simple to install. They do not require straight pipe runs and can be mounted in any orientation. They feature built-in alarm switches and are available with LCD readout displays for flow, pressure and totalization. Output options include current, voltage and frequency.

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc., located in Hazel Park, Michigan, has manufactured flow meters for a variety of industries for more than 20 years. The company can be reached at (248) 542-9635 or at www.flowmeters.com.
