Promariner Introduces Energy Saving PronauticP Series Chargers
Marine Charging Systems Leader Debuts New All-Digital Energy Saving Series
Portsmouth, N.H. – ProMariner, the leader in the design and manufacture of on-board marine charging systems, announced today its next generation ProNauticP Series ProMar Digital Performance Charging platform with Energy Savings capabilities and new operating system. Meeting the California Energy Commission (CEC) efficiency requirements for battery chargers, the innovative green chargers combine digitally controlled and software-based power conversion technology with global energy management features. The new 2014 ProNauticP Series delivers wide-range AC input and power factor correction allowing all models to operate off standard household power connections anywhere in the world, anytime, while greatly reducing fully-charged energy consumption by batteries aboard a vessel.
The ProNauticP consumes approximately one-tenth of the power of chargers that are available on the market today. An independent laboratory tested chargers over a four-day period with no loads applied to battery system – a typical unoccupied power or sail recreational vessel scenario. The standard electronic multi-stage battery charger consumes 942 WH, while the Energy Saving ProNauticP consumed only 86 WH. By reducing the use of electrical energy by up to 10 times less, the ProNauticP Series chargers will reduce the use of fossil fuels as well as the additional requirement to generate electricity. This lessening the demand for electrical energy reduces the need to construct additional power generation capacity. As a result, the ProMariner ProNauticP meets the CEC goals for improved battery charger efficiency.
“ProMariner is committed to energy conservation technology,” said Gerald (Jerry) Demirjian, partner & senior vice president, ProMariner. “The ProNauticP provides a path for future energy saving innovations in the marine industry. With the mass adoption of our ProNauticP’s Energy Saving technology, boatbuilders and consumers alike will see a sharp reduction in power consumption associated with slipped boats.”
The user-friendly and efficient ProNauticP Series has dual-digital displays that present real-time charging voltage, amperage and percentage of power out. Offering the ultimate in confidence, every model employs power-on, self-start-up diagnostics with pass or fail status, as well as a discreet warning indication to alert users of faulty wiring or adverse battery bank conditions, without the need to decode LED patterns. ProNauticP models automatically remove stress on a fully charged battery by incorporating a built-in conservation mode. Once the batteries are properly recharged and conditioning begins, batteries are constantly monitored to ensure they are properly maintained, all the while meeting the demand for DC power aboard the vessel and maximizing the energy savings. Packed with intelligent features, the charger systems automatically recondition batteries to improve battery life and reserve power performance once a month if batteries are in a state of short- or long-term storage. Distributed-On-Demand™ Charging technology takes 100% of the available charging amps and distributes it to any one battery or a combination of all batteries, as needed, for more efficient charging. The ProNauticP self-calculates absorption and conditioning time based on its ability to analyze the discharge state of the on-board battery banks, and incorporates fully automatic temperature compensation as a standard feature on all models.
“Our ProNauticP Next Generation Digital Performance Charging platform offers the next level in digital and software power conversion design and execution,” said Gerald (Jerry) Demirjian, partner & senior vice president, ProMariner. “The new all-digital assortment with revolutionary electrical power conservation software and hardware sets this product apart in the industry for its energy savings and battery maintenance — preserving the integrity of performance and extending the life of onboard marine batteries.”
The new ProMariner 2014 ProNautic P Series with energy saving technology features an “Energy Saving” logo on the packaging and BC logo on the model’s technical label to visually confirm the product has the latest energy saving technology. The ProNauticP system series is comprised of the ProNautic1210P (10-amp), ProNautic1215P (15-amp), ProNautic1220P (20-amp), ProNautic1230P (30-amp), ProNautic1240P (40-amp), ProNautic1250P (50-amp) and ProNautic1260P (60-amp) 12-volt models, and the ProNautic2420P (20-amp) and ProNautic2430P (30-amp) 24-volt models. All chargers are designed to perform in a harsh marine environment.
