TekSoft Releases CAMWorksTM 2001 Plus!

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - February, 2002 - TekSoft, a division of OnCourse
Technologies, Inc. announced today the release of CAMWorks 2001Plus. CAMWorks is a powerful, user-friendly manufacturing software application that seamlessly integrates into the award winning SolidWorks(TM) solid modeling software. CAMWorks has been a premier manufacturing solution and SolidWorks Gold Level product since 1997. "This latest release incorporates numerous usability improvements, turning enhancements, and 3 Axis machining features, all developed to simplify the operator's workload and expedite the CNC process," explains Dennis Roberson, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for TekSoft.

Usability highlights include valuable new right click commands, tool management functions, simplified feature and toolpath display for improved performance, and automatic storing of simulation settings and dialog box sizes and locations. Several time saving file management features and improvements have been added, such as a new Auto Save function, the ability to export and import CAMWorks data between files, and improved file save performance that reduces the time to save large 3 axis toolpaths by as much as 90%.

New features for turning include reverse machining for threading and finishing, roughing corner transition options, toolpath manipulation options that reduce the need to create or modify additional turning features, and turn holder display during simulation. 3-Axis milling enhancements include high speed machining options and taper tool support for roughing and finishing as well as 2-Axis plunge roughing. Toolpath processing time and reliability required for 3-Axis toolpath generation has been significantly improved.

Advancements to CAMWorks' Automatic Feature Recognition (AFR) technology include the ability to automatically create 3-Axis Features from Pocket/Cavity areas and recognition of advanced prismatic features with taper, fillets, or chamfers. An option in
turn feature recognition reduces the need to interactively setup turn section information. CAMWorks is available through a worldwide network of authorized distributors.
