Main Street Softworks, Inc. Enhances Monetra® Version 7

GAINESVILLE, Fla., April 6 -- Main Street Softworks, Inc. announces new features and enhancements to the company's flagship Monetra(R) Version 7 payment server software product, including secure store and forward functionality, support for Flexible Spending Account transactions and the Bill Me Later(R) alternative payment method, and other enhancements. The new features and enhancements will be included in the company's standard product distributions effective immediately, and are available free of charge to all current Main Street customers as well.

Monetra Version 7 is a PA-DSS security validated middleware/gateway interface software product that securely and reliably processes credit card, debit card, gift card, and electronic benefit card transactions from applications such as point-of-sale and eCommerce systems. Main Street's Monetra software is used for processing transactions for over 50,000 merchants throughout the USA.

The new store and forward subsystem enables merchants to continue accepting credit cards in the event all communications connectivity to a processing institution is lost. When connectivity is restored, those transactions will be automatically forwarded to the processor for authorization. In addition, magnetic track data will never be stored, as swiped transactions will be converted to keyed data for card security compliance. Main Street's Senior Developer, Brad House, explains, "Store and forward functionality gives merchants peace of mind during communication failures. Monetra will securely facilitate the movement of transaction data and ensure appropriate fail-over and recovery procedures are performed as needed to keep merchants operational when other systems are offline."

Full support for the new Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS) protocol for use with Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) cards is now certified in Monetra Version 7 for the TSYS, Global Payments and Elavon platforms. The US Internal Revenue Service now requires certain retailers to support IIAS functionality when performing transactions with consumers using FSA and HRA cards, to validate purchases of eligible healthcare products and prescriptions.

Support for the alternative payment method Bill Me Later(R) is now also included in Monetra Version 7. Providing merchants with more versatility in accepting payments, this new capability enables eCommerce outlets to increase sales and customer retention.

Main Street has also added a new, "generic" gift card interface to the Monetra Version 7 product, providing merchants and developers an easy way to interface Monetra to proprietary gift or stored value card systems. Via the new interface, Monetra Version 7 will route transaction requests to a merchant's proprietary gift card system using an open XML, HTTP/HTTPS POST, or direct IP/SSL formatted protocol, and provides transaction results based upon the responses returned from the proprietary system.
