Magnetic Sensor from Omron Senses All Metals

SCHAUMBURG, IL (June 26, 2002)-Omron's innovative magnetic sensor measures position and rotation and senses non-ferrous and ferrous metals, unlike hall effect sensors. By changing its excitation frequency, the depth of detection is changeable. Even in short sensing applications, it features high resolution.

The magnetic sensor's long sensing distance of 0 to 1 mm makes it suitable for detection and its feature of high resolution makes it suitable for imaging. The magnetic sensor's operating temperature is 0 to 60°C.

The Omron magnetic sensor is ideal for micro-magnetism applications, where lower level changes in magnetism are required, such as in GPSs and in vending machine coin detection.
